Q. hello, i have just installed new ink cartrige to my hp deskjet printer. from previous troubles i had the printer paused and i forgot about this. after inserting the cartrige i was offered to align the printer but i messed with it. it printed the test page and also the aligning sheet but i cannot set the correct parametres anymore. how can i try it again? it does not print badly, but just to do it correctly.

many thanx.

A. Disconnect the Universal Serial Bus (USB) cable from the back of the product, but leave the product turned on

Open the cover of the product and remove the print cartridges

Close the cover and wait for the Insert Ink Cartridges message to display

Disconnect the power cord from the back of the product and wait for one minute

Reconnect the power cord. If the product does not automatically turn on, press the Power button

Open the cover and reinsert the print cartridges

Close the cover. If prompted, print a calibration page.
Reconnect the USB cable, and try to print a print job from the computer

Where can I buy a driver CD for a Lexmark X215 printer?
Q. This is to be used for Windows XP Professional. Have a new computer and need to install this printer, yet even having trouble downloading the driver from the Lexmark website. Would like to try find a CD somewhere.

A. Most likely you won't be able to purchase the CDs without also purchasing the printer itself. However, the drivers will be available online from other parties than Lexmark.

How to use my printer from a separate computer?
Q. How do I use my printer from a separate computer?

Example: My family computer is hooked up downstairs and to the printer. I remember seeing laptops send prints to a printer without wires.

How can I do that?

A. I know exactly what you want, I send print jobs from my laptop all the time. I when I first set it up I had a lot of trouble so I will give all the details that got it to work for me.
Note: You must have the family computer on in order to send print jobs to it.
1. Make sure that both computers have the required hardware, you should have, maybe built in, maybe not, a wireless Ethernet card. You must have a wireless router that transmits on the same frequency (letters like G, and N represent frequencies) and the family computer must connect to that router either with wires or wirelessly.
2. Both computers must have a windows logon password in order to set up file and printer sharing (file and printer sharing go together but file sharing can be independently shut off later). To set a logon password go to Control Panel in the start menu, then open user accounts. Select your account or the one that you plan to use (I don't know if limited accounts would work) and click add a password. From there it is self-explanatory.
3. Make sure that both computers have different computer names. You can find the computer name by right clicking on My Computer and selecting properties then click the computer name tab.
4. On both computers open Control Panel and make sure, in XP, that it is not in category view by using the button near the upper left. Then run the 'Network Setup Wizard'. During the setup make sure that you turn on file and printer sharing. I think that It is pretty much self-explanatory.
5. Restart your computers. Also do this after any step If prompted to for changes to take effect.
6. On your family computer open Control Panel, make sure that it is not in category view and click 'Printers and Faxes'. Right click on the printer that you wish to share and click sharing... Make sure that it is set to be shared (the Icon that you just right clicked on will probably have a hand under it if it is already shared but best check any way).
7. Youâre almost done :) Now on the laptop open 'My Network Places' (if you can't find it in start or on the desktop open My Computer and, in XP anyway, there is an other places menu on the right with a short-cut to 'My Network Places' in it.)
8. In the bar near the top type "\\<family computers name>" and press enter. You may also be able to access it through, 'View workgroup computers'.
9. Right click on the printer you want to and click 'Connect'. You will be prompted to install a printer driver, click yes.
10. You should be set. Just open your document, go to print it, select the new networked printer and print away!

Don't be discouraged if you absolutely can't get it to work, there are people who go to collage to learn about this stuff.

We have 4 computers at our house, an old computer a new computer and a 2 laptops. All 4 use there hardware to connect to 1 router that has shared internet connected to it. The laptops both connect to the old computer for use of it's printer but we absolutely can't get the new computer to connect to the old computer or any of the laptops for that matter. All I'm saying is don't feel bad if you can't get it to work.
