How do i print wireless from my laptop to my printer?

Q. I have a printer that is connected to my desktop pc. But i also want to connect my laptop to the printer but without any wires. I want to print documents while i am in my bedroom but they should print in my office, where my desktop and printer is located. What do i have to buy? and how do i Install it? Thank You.

A. the easiest way to print wirelessly from laptop to printer is to have a wifi connection available in your home and then have a wi-fi enabled printer. when you hit print the laptop sniffs out the wifi printer and prints accordingly.

the lexmark x4690 is less than a $100, installs in a few minutes and can also print good looking 4x6 photos- all wirelessly and all very easily. cartridges are about $20

hp printers are harder to install because their wifi connection is unreliable (doesn't find the connection all the time) and the set-up itself is very difficult. also hp bundles a lot of unecessary software that it downloads automatically (cartridges are about $35)

if you have an exisiting printer that is not wifi enabled there are work arounds like a usb dongle and software you can buy to "trick" the printer to work wirelessly but it's more trouble than it's worth

g luck

Why did my printer suddenly start doing this?
Q. My Epson printer and my fiance's HP printer have both worked fine up til' now...but suddenly, within two weeks of each other, they stopped printing!

The printer takes the paper, the ink cartridge moves back and forth and it takes about the same amount of time as a normal print, but the paper comes out without a mark on it! All the ink is brand new...any ideas?

A. The printers both sound like they think they are printing, the signal to print is going from the computer to the printer and to the ink. Either the ink is empty or has dried up and is clogging the print heads so that no ink can go through or there is some sort of electronic issue that isn't telling the print heads to fire correctly.

Checking to make sure the protective tape is off of the electronics is the first thing to look at on the HP if it's a double cartridge printer. If the HP is like the epson and takes individual cartridges for each color then there would be no tape. It's hard to say what the hp problem is without know what model or cartridges it takes though. If the printers have been sitting unused for a few months the ink could have dried up and clogged the nozzles in the print head. If it's a double cartridge system you can attempt to replace and see if it fixes is, if it's like the epson all you can do is try to run some cleaning cycles and see if it clears it up.

The problem with trying to trouble shoot things like this is that a lot of the time you end up spending nearly as much money to figure it out in ink as you would spend to just buy a new printer. If you want to give me some more details about the printers and some timelines I can try and help but without that, this is the best I can do.

How do i network a printer from desktop to a wireless laptop?
Q. I want to be able to send documents or whatever that i am working on to the printer that is connected to the desktop FROM my laptop.
We do have a router and its connected to desktop. But I am not computer savy so could yo give me sep by step instructions?
Oh wow, Sorry for the misspelled words, I guess i was typing way to fast and did not edit my response!!! Not really understanding the answers.

A. get a wireless router, connect the desktop to the internet via the router, set up a wireless network, enable print and file sharing on the desktop....

EDIT

ok, networking is not my strong area in computers, but what I did when i connected my kids computer was to plug both computers into the router.
use the network wizard to set up the network its really simple especially with a flash drive.
enable printer and file sharing.
unplug the laptop and try connecting via the wireless adapter.
make sure the printer is turned on and print something.

I dont know much about trouble shooting issues with the wireless.
